An escape room is a timed adventure in a new world.

The first thing to know is what the concept of an escape room is. An escape room is a 60-minute trek through a room or rooms crafted to look like a certain environment based on the room’s theme. In those 60 minutes, you will be given a series of puzzles and challenges that you will have to complete in order to work towards an overall goal that will get you out of the room.

How do I get started?

The first thing you have to decide when going into an escape room is what room you would like to do. If it is your first time, it’s usually good to go for the easiest room that a company offers, as it will likely teach you how an escape room usually works, while  still challenging you enough to put you through the wringer. These types of “beginner” rooms are  intended to challenge you while still teaching you the basics of an escape room. It is not really recommended that you go for a harder room for your first time however, as a lot of escape rooms aren’t really about intelligence. You could be very smart outside  of escape rooms, but the logic that you have to use in an escape room is not really the kind that you use in your day-to-day life. It’s better to get a grasp on how escape rooms want you to think first, then move onto the harder rooms!

The words “Escape Room” aren’t literal; you aren’t trapped in the room.

One of the biggest fears new players have is if they will be trapped inside of the room until they solve all the puzzles, or their time runs out. That is almost never the case, at any point in time you have the option to walk out of the room and take a breather  before going back in. This is usually never the case because at any point in time, you have the option to walk out of the room and take a breather before going back in. The timers for the room will continue to run while you are out of the room, so don’t take
too long!

You are not helpless in the room, someone is always ready to help you!

In escape rooms, you have a game narrator who is there to oversee your game. In some places the narrator stays inside the room with you, in others, they watch from a different room via cameras. In some places, the narrator will stay inside of the room with  you while other places will have the narrators watch from a different room via cameras. At Imagine Escape Games, we watch through cameras and talk to you via a speaker system we have in the room. At any point in time that you can’t figure out a puzzle or need any help, all you have to do is ask and your game narrator will be able to help you on whatever you want!

Why should I go to Imagine Escape Games for my first experience?

There are many reasons to choose any of our wonderful rooms, but here are a few reasons why it’s even better to play at Imagine for your first escape room! Our first room, “The Alleyway Vigilantes” was specifically made to help teach new players how escape rooms work. The room is pretty straight forward in puzzle flow, as well as being the easiest room that we offer! On top of that, we have a discount code for new players to use specifically for that room so you can try it out and see if escape rooms are for you! If you book a private experience in The Alleyway Vigilantes, use the code “FirstEscape” to get 20% off the room’s total price! We are also a Mom & Pop shop, meaning we are a single location owned by Tampa locals who built all of the rooms and puzzles themselves! Don’t just take our word on it though, feel free to see what people who have come here have said about our rooms, or check out this article written by Escape Authority to see how they felt about us!
